How Can itchy Rashes On The Stomach In An Elderly Person Be Treated?

My dad is 76 years old he got a cut on his hand and ended up getting a tetanus shot and was given SMZ-TMP-DS -800-160 and broke out in a rash on his back chest stomach and arms he says they itch but do not hurt and he is not uncomfortable besides itching I think it looks like a psoriasis outbreak after having strep throat he also suffers from psoriasis there are no skin doctors in our area so he went to his regular doctor and was given valacyclovir (valtrex) which is for shingles I do not believe that s what he has. Any ideas?

MY DEAR ITCHY RASHES onback chest stomach and arms may be because of the drug SMZ TMP .SINCE IT IS NOT HURTING HIM only mild itch,i suggest to avoid this drug plus some soothing skin lotions and stop that SMZ TMP .gradual relief with change of antibiotic might help .thanks for using HCM.
